Inspired by the 19th century French "atelier" style of training, the Core Program is a comprehensive program taking students from complete beginner to high-level artists in a period of months, not years. Work through the entire or pick one module, it's up to you!

Award-winning artist Cody Wheelock is the owner and instructor of Fount Atelier of Fine Art. Specializing in portraiture and landscape painting, Cody's work emphasizes the tonal qualities of lIght and color in nature. In addition to selling his work to clients throughout the country Cody is a professionally trained educator, holding B.S. and M.A. degrees in art education and over 15 years of instructional experience as a high school educator, private instructor, and mentor. Cody and his family moved from Omaha, Neb. to the Lee's Summit area and opened Fount Atelier in fall of 2019.

How do I get started?
Simply fill out and submit the interest form above and I will be in-touch shortly. We'll set-up a free video call to discuss your goals and I'll share how the program works in-detail. Then you can decide if it will be a good fit before committing to anything.
How long is the program?
The Fine Art Formula program is self-paced, so it depends on how quickly you work and how much you do at home between weekly sessions. Some students achieve their goal in a couple months, others have been with me for years.
How much is tuition?
Monthly tuition includes 24/7 access to all online instructional content, unlimited personalized video feedback from a professional instructor, a one-on-one video coaching call each month and unlimited text/email Q&A, etc. for $199/month.
How long do I have to commit for?
Students enroll on a month-to-month basis so you are only committed to one month at a time. This allows for maximum flexibility throughout the year.
I'm a beginner, is that OK?
Yes! You do not need any experience or "talent" to achieve amazing results. We start from the ground-up and establish the proper mindset, then get started with the materials you'll need and go from there.
What age range is this for?
I work with students from age 12-13 all the way up to retirees in their 80s. Whether preparing for post-secondary programs, enjoying it as a hobby, or developing a side-gig, art is fantastic for all seasons of life.
How does the video feedback work?
You'll email/text me images of your assignments and I'll respond within 24 hours (or on Monday if a weekend) with a link to a feedback video. On the video I'll explain what you're doing well and what could be improved, digitally painting over your artwork to demonstrate what to change. Then you can watch and re-watch the video as much as you want and make the adjustments!
How does the monthly video call work?
We'll schedule a time each month to jump on a Zoom call together (up to 1 hour long). On the call we'll discuss how things are going, I'll answer any questions you have, provide feedback on your work, and we'll set some goals. Having some face-to-face interaction is a great way to foster accountability and a reminder that you're not alone!
